Trinity’s youth are invited to participate in this year’s Rock-A-Thon, which will be held (we hope!!!) March 19 – 20. All youth in grades 3 – 12 are invited to join us. So, what is the Rock-A-Thon? It’s a tradition at Trinity that started about 40 years ago, in the late 1970’s and continues to be one of the favorite activities our kids do – and one our adults have a lot of fun with, too! It’s a 24-hour event intended to raise money to help other kids. Our theme “Kids Rockin’ for Kids”, means that our kids will climb into their rocking chairs and ask sponsors to support them (financially) for whatever period of time they will be rocking. This year’s event begins at 9 am on March 19 and concludes at 9 am March 20. A child’s age will determine the length of time they can rock. Our confirmation youth met Sunday evening (Jan. 2) and decided that all monies raised will be donated to the Ronald McDonald houses in Danville and Hershey. At this point we don’t know what their needs are, but will certainly have that information confirmed during our next confirmation class. Youth in grades 3 – those in First Communion class may rock for either 6 or 12 hours and confirmation youth – high school rock for 6, 12 or 24 hours. Six hours can be 9 am to 3 pm or 3 pm to 9 pm; Twelve hours are 9 am to 9 pm and (of course) the 24 hours are 9 am – 9 am. Youth are also more than welcome invite a friend to participate in the Rock-A-Thon. An informational meeting will be held prior to confirmation class on Sunday, February 20 at 5:00 pm. If you want to find out more about the Rock-A-Thon or want to participate (and are not currently in confirmation) please call the church office (570-622-9910) or let us know via email (tlcpottsvilleconfirmation@gmail.com) you’ll be attending. Attendance at the meeting is required for those who wish to rock. Parents may attend with their child or on their behalf.
